Pickpockets in the Indian state of Gujarat stole people's money and bought a Land Cruiser.

According to India Today, two couples were detained for pickpocketing in the region of Gir Somnath in the state of Gujarat. The four suspects were riding in an SUV purchased with stolen funds.

Sanjay Thakur and his wife Geeta, as well as Naresh Bhabhoor and his wife Rekha, have been named as the suspects. Both couples have admitted to perpetrating 339 pickpocketing incidents in Gujarat during the previous 12 years.

The event was brought to light after two pickpocketing reports were filed at the Veraval police station on August 22. Women had stolen money in both cases. According to the CCTV footage, the accused ladies stepped out of a vehicle at the bus station but did not have any luggage with them. This piqued the police's interest. The police obtained the car's registration number and tracked it down near the Indian rayon mill in Veraval, where the four offenders were apprehended.

Police recovered Rs 16,000 in cash, an iPhone, and a Land Cruiser purchased with the accused's stolen money. During the inquiry, the accused stated that they used to survey the neighbourhood and go out for pickpocketing depending on whether the populace was male or female. Males would perpetrate the crime if there were more men in the neighbourhood, while women would pick pockets if there were more women.
